The only Laurel & Hardy film to win an Academy Award in competition, this one scooped the 1932 award for Best Comedy Short Subject, the first time that particular award had been given.

The film is a partial remake of the comedians’ 1927 silent short Hats Off, filmed at the same location and is today considered lost.  Hats Off was itself remade in the same location, as It’s Your Move, starring Edgar Kennedy in 1945.

The famous steps are located at 923-935, Vendome Street, Los Angeles, near the intersection of Del Monte Street, and they connect Vendome Street at the bottom with Descano Drive at the top.
