Given that they made in excess of a hundred films, twenty-seven of them feature length, pinning down specific influences stemming from this particular production is a pretty difficult task.  Suffice it to say, the team’s impact on the history of comedy is immeasurable: virtually any double-act or physical comedian owes them a debt, from Morecambe & Wise and The Two Ronnies, to Lee Evans, John Cleese and Steve Martin.  Even Homer Simpson owes his catchphrase to their films.

They were unique in the history of the movies and perhaps not fully appreciated until they had faded from view.  It is so often the case.
